BLOOM: a wine party at the pub
The Builders Arms Hotel had a get-together with great wines, food and music on Sunday 16th October. Here’s what went on …
Thank you to all of the winemakers, distillers, beer brewers, punters, chefs, music makers, bartenders, diners, and drinkers who helped make our first wine party in years a huge success and absolute delight to attend. We had such a great time - The Builders is a magical place when it’s full of festivities.
BLOOM was a day dedicated to celebrating all things vinous, hand-in-hand with great food and music and good vibes. We are inspired by the legions of producers, makers, growers and creatives who make our community such an exciting place to play, and we loved welcoming them into our big old pub. People had the chance to meet the makers, learn a thing or two, and sample small-production wines, cocktails and non-alcoholic drinks from a collection of brilliant local producers.
THE LUNCH
On loan from our favourite restaurants in Sydney, Fratelli Paradiso and 10 William Street, guest chef Trisha Greentree cooked a relaxed and generous Italian-leaning lunch with hand-made pasta and spring greens, a beautiful rare breed pork chop with Roman beans, fire-kissed lamb arrosticini, and so much more. Tables full of friends relished being able to enjoy Trisha’s food in Melbourne (a rare treat!) and wines from BLOOM producers flowed freely and kept spirits high.

After the official tasting was done, the unofficial tasting continued through the afternoon and into the night as we opened the doors to the public, and welcomed DJ Sarah and Georgia Bird to the decks in the Public Bar. The wines and snacks kept flowing, and good times were had by all.
